Almost every company in the European Union is required to maintain Records of Processing Activities (Art. 30(1) GDPR) or in case of a Processor, Category Records (Art. 30(2) GDPR). Controllers need to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (Art. 35 GDPR).
If someone wants to rely on a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), a Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) is mandatory.
